Sin City is officially shifting into high gear for the 2026 Formula 1 Heineken Grand Prix®. With the race returning from November 19-21, locals and tourists alike should prepare for some traffic disruptions. Construction for the street circuit is officially on – and so are road closures and lane reductions on the Vegas Strip.
According to reports from KTNV and FOX5 Vegas, the city is already seeing traffic impacts, especially near the Bellagio, Koval Lane, and Harmon Avenue. Drivers should brace for detours, while tourists should think of alternative spots to see the famous Bellagio fountains. Moreover, officials are announcing that additional overnight closures will be rolling out soon.
F1® road closures and disruptions in Vegas
One of the most notable disruptions for pedestrians and drivers involves the iconic Bellagio Fountains. To accommodate the construction of the massive Bellagio Fountain Club hospitality space (built directly over the water), the main sidewalk in front of the fountains was officially closed on September 14. This pedestrian pathway will remain off-limits through the fall as crews assemble the high-end spectator zone.
Traffic alongside the fountains has also been heavily restricted. The two right lanes of southbound Las Vegas Boulevard have been shut down, reducing traffic to just a single lane, 24 hours a day, along that specific block.
What’s changed since last year?
City crews are working to implement smoother procedures this time around. Surrounding businesses remain fully accessible, but anyone driving near the 6.2-kilometer street circuit (Las Vegas Boulevard, Sands Avenue, Harmon Avenue, and Koval Lane) should plan for extra travel time.
