Some days, there’s nothing better than cuddling up with a book and a comfy blanket. Time stops (or goes by way too fast), the outside world doesn’t exist, and it’s just you and your story. Then the book ends – and you have so much to share, discuss, and ask. Now what? Time to head to a book club. In Vegas, there’s one for everyone – from fantasy to short stories, queer authors to poems, and everything in between. Here are our favorite book clubs in Vegas:
1. Big Book Club
As the name suggests, this one’s for those readers who tackle the hardest and thickest books. These titles aren’t accessible or attractive to everyone, so it can be hard to find your people. Not here at Writer’s Block. The club invites readers to experience these reads at a leisurely pace and to enjoy the companionship of fellow readers making the same journey simultaneously.
2. The Gloss
The Gloss is a worldwide book club, with a local Vegas presence. Everyone who’s part of this club – no matter where they’re located – reads the same book, each month. What a fun feeling, knowing that there are thousands of people going through the same pages as you. Then, once a month, members meet in a centrally located venue to discuss; in Vegas, that’s Panera Bread. The event is hosted by a local. You need to be a paying member of The Gloss to participate in the book club. More info here.
3. Readers’ Circle
Love to read, but aren’t so much into one style or topic? Then this is one of the best book clubs in Vegas for you. Every month, books and genres change, as they’re chosen by the members, which means you’ll also get to share a title you love with the group.
4. Poems & Pie Book Club

Hosted at beloved Writer’s Block, this group discusses works of contemporary and classic poetry. Bonus points: there’s pie! The group welcomes anyone with an interest in learning about poetry, so you don’t need to worry if you don’t know much about poems yet.
5. Tales and Mocktails
This fun event takes place at several libraries across Vegas (and around), and it’s a great combo of two things we love: books and mocktails. Each month – or quarter, depending on location – a new title is discussed. The one at Windmill Library takes place every 3rd Friday of the month, and the one at Centennial Hills Library has quarterly meetings.
6. ‘Not A Book’ Book Club
If you love reading and you want to share your thoughts, but can’t find the time to get through a book once a month, consider joining this ‘non-book club’. The 2nd Friday of each month at Goodsprings Library, members discuss a short story, a novella or another very short “not-a-book”.
7. Cozy Cabin Book Club

This Saturday morning book club (last of every month) is not just a gathering, but a whole vibe. Enjoy coffee, tea, and deep discussions with gorgeous view of Mt. Charleston as your backdrop. Dreamy? To say the least. It takes place at Mt. Charleston Library.
8. Queer as b**k Book Club
Also hosted at the Writer’s Block, this group’s focus is pretty obvious – it highlights queer authors and stories. They meet once a quarter. Next up, November 3, discussing Detransition, baby.
