Las Vegas has many outstanding pools but none quite like this one.
“Public Pool” by CJ Hendry is a new installation that’s coming to the desert near Las Vegas from April 5th to April 7th.
The installation is a 50-metre inflatable pool with inflatable flowers that dance atop the surface in a stunning array of colors. The installation also calls back to Las Vegas’ penchant for kitschiness and public pools with cute chairs and umbrellas that line the sides of the pool.
Located in Sandy Valley Ranch, a 45 to 1 hour drive from Vegas, and the cute and whimsical installation is free to the public. If you choose to, there will be limited edition merchandise available from limited-edition drawings and a collection of pool-themed merchandise, including beach towels, floaties, and apparel.
CJ Hendry, originally from Brisbane but based in New York, is an exciting contemporary artist who puts on exhibits that transform her fascination with contemporary material culture into large-scale, hyper-photorealistic drawings or immersive installations.
