We all wanted it to happen, but unfortunately, it didn’t work out…the queen herself isn’t returning to Vegas this December, as initially planned. Dolly Parton was about to once again conquer the stage, right around her 80th birthday. Dolly: Live in Las Vegas would have taken place this December at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace.
However, Dolly recently announced that she’s dealing with a couple of health challenges, which forced her to reschedule this much-awaited residency. Here’s what the artist said in a statement on Instagram:
“I want the fans and public to hear directly from me that, unfortunately, I will need to postpone my upcoming Las Vegas concerts. As many of you know, I have been dealing with some health challenges, and my doctors tell me that I must have a few procedures. As I joked with them, it must be time for my 100,000-mile check-up, although it’s not the usual trip to see my plastic surgeon! In all seriousness, given this, I am not going to be able to rehearse and put together the show that I want you to see, and the show that you deserve to see. You pay good money to see me perform, and I want to be at my best for you. While I’ll still be able to work on all of my projects from here in Nashville, I just need a little time to get show ready, as they say. And don’t worry about me quittin’ the business because God hasn’t said anything about stopping yet,” the statement added. “But, I believe He is telling me to slow down right now so I can be ready for more big adventures with all of you. I love you and thank you for understanding.”
Below is the original release, before Dolly Parton’s residency was postponed.

Tickets
As you can imagine – and understandably so – the enthusiasm for these shows was at an all time high. Rumor is, tickets sold out in less than 90 minutes. However, not all hope is lost, and there are still ways to see Dolly Parton in Vegas. StubHub and Vivid Seats, which are both reputable resellers, currently have tickets available for most shows. Let’s be honest – they aren’t cheap, with the lowest price currently around $1,000. But! This is a once in a life time opportunity to see a once in a lifetime show. Worth it.
Dolly Parton in Vegas

Dolly’s last Vegas performance series took place in 1993. Back then, the artist was quite a Sin City regular – she performed over 50 times at the Mirage! As she nears her 80th birthday, the county star has mostly retired from tours, with just a couple of scattered concerts here and there. Her last major concert series ended in 2016. Given the immediately sold out tickets, it’s clear that fans understand, appreciate and embrace this unique occasion.
“To say I’m excited would be an understatement. I haven’t worked in Vegas for years, and I’ve always loved performing there,” Parton said. She added: “I’m looking so forward to the shows in The Colosseum at Caesars and I hope you are as well. See you there.”
