If you were looking for a dose of happy news, look no further. Let’s take a break from updates regarding traffic, weather, or politics, and focus on what’s truly important: Puppy Bowl XXII. And as Nevadans, we can rest assured – we have a very strong candidate. Ladies and gentlemen, meet Dumpling.
Dumpling the puppy

Representing Team Fluff, Dumpling hails from the Nevada SPCA in Las Vegas. Yep – we have a local friend representing our whole wonderful state! Dumpling’s a small but mighty pup ready to take over the world.
Nevada SPCA’s participation continues Southern Nevada’s presence on a national stage. It highlights the work being done locally to rescue and rehome all animals in need.
What’s Puppy Bowl?
In case you’re not familiar with one of the most wonderful events of the year, let’s fix that.
The Puppy Bowl is an annual television event airing on Animal Planet on Super Bowl Sunday, featuring adoptable shelter puppies. Divided into Team Ruff and Team Fluff, the teams play a mock football game and score touchdowns by dragging toys into end zones. With penalties like ‘unnecessary ruffness’ and a focus on finding forever homes, it serves as a cute, stress-free alternative to the Super Bowl for animal lovers everywhere.

The goal? Lombarky Trophy.
The real goal? This fun broadcast is designed to raise awareness for pet adoption, showcasing animals from rescues nationwide, including those with special needs (like Max, who represented Nevada last year). Historically, the event boasts a 100% adoption rate for the pups.
Moreover, there’s also a Kitty Halftime Show, where adoptable kittens take over the field together with cheerleaders that are often bunnies, piglets, or ducklings.
You can watch the wonderful event on Sunday, February 8, at 11 AM PT on Animal Planet.
