If you ever wondered if EDC can get any cooler…turns out, it can. This year, we’re going the extra mile, with extra cool outfits, because the EDC “Minion Army” movement just got officially real.

For those of you wondering what we’re talking about, let’s get a bit of context. A TikTok user called tinfawn posted a video calling festival lovers to dress up as minions and take over the EDC grounds. He said he initially popped the question in his Texas friends group (around 200 people), and everyone was pretty down for it – but how much better would it be if we’re talking thousands?!
The video blew up and people in the comments started asking for more details, like “I’m in, which day?” A plan seemed to be in motion – but this was just the biggening!

The takeover is happening on Day 1 of EDC Las Vegas (Friday, May 15). At this point, we think there’ll be over 1,000 attendees dressed in the mandatory “minion uniform” (goggles, a yellow top, and blue bottoms) to create (fun) chaos and capture the largest themed group photo in festival history. Here’s the breakdown (as it now stands on Partiful):
Logistics:
- When: Day 1 (Friday). Main meetup time is from 10:00PM-11:00PM. At 10PM, we are crashing a wedding at Chapel of Nature in downtown EDC. We wreak havoc all over downtown EDC until 11PM, when we take the group picture.
- Where: The middle of downtown EDC, in front of the Downtown EDC Sign.
Plan:
- 5-7PM: Opening ceremony
- 7PM: Run to Wasteland
- 7:30-8PM: First meetup at Cosmic Meadow
- 10PM: Wedding crash at Chapel of Nature in Downtown EDC
- 10-11PM: Downtown EDC takeover
- 5AM: Sunrise set at Cosmic Meadow
Not a drill – EDC is in!
It started as a funny idea to get a squad together, but now the actual EDC Vegas Instagram account has stepped in, commenting that they want to help make it happen. This is no longer a drill! With the festival organizers officially supporting the “Minion Horde,” this takeover is basically confirmed to be legendary.
EDC 2026
EDC Las Vegas 2026 is officially set to return to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway from May 15–17, 2026. This edition will mark a massive chapter for the festival’s 30+ year history. While the full lineup is typically kept under wraps until closer to the event (often dropping in late spring – keep an eye on our page!), the hype is already legit. There are already sold-out ticket tiers and eager speculation about stage takeovers.
Besides the famous and usual mix of world-class production, art installations, and sunrise sets, this year’s Minion Army will add even more magic to the event. Whether you’re a veteran or consider attending EDC for the first time, this edition will be one for the books.
