The legendary sign is moving this year!
The iconic Vegas sign which has welcomed all entering Sin City since 1959 was recently purchased. That’s right, the “Welcome To Fabulous Las Vegas” sign is moving. The sale, which was finalized on Thursday, closed at a whopping 15 million! Fortunately, the sign won’t be moving too far away.
That’s because the billionaire in question is relocating to Las Vegas from L.A. The Silicon Valley billionaire is 34-year-old William Forks and has spent the past two years building his dream home. His custom Las Vegas mansion reportedly cost over 17 million and is set to be finished by the end of the month. The home’s vast grounds will house the iconic Vegas sign. The mansion is located in Enclave Court in Country Club Hills in Summerlin. This exclusive neighborhood is known as “Billionaires Row,” and will now also be known for its connection to a piece of Vegas history.
William Fork made his fortune in Silicon Valley acquiring small tech companies, with a focus on data security. His company MindTrust is reportedly worth over 20 billion dollars.
When asked if people could visit the beloved sign Forks said he was open to allowing guided tours when he was away. That shouldn’t be too difficult given the tech entrepreneur has 5 other homes which we could find.
The “Welcome To Fabulous Las Vegas” sign will have an epic sendoff sometime in late May. The mayor is already arranging a fabulous party, which will include a showstopping parade, local marching bands, Vegas showgirls, Elvis impersonators and so much more!
APRIL FOOLS!
Yeah, sorry, none of that is happening…even though it seems like it could!
