Looking to trade the lights of the Strip for some wildlife – at least for a day? Just about 3 and a half hours from Vegas, lies a hidden gem that feels a world away. Welcome to the Grand Canyon Deer Farm, a place that feels like an actual fairytale.
Grand Canyon Deer Farm’s story and history

For over 50 years, this 10-acre animal wonderland located on a historic stretch of Route 66 has been offering locals and visitors a hands-on wildlife experience. If you’ve ever wanted to channel your inner Snow White, this is the place. As soon as you step onto the path with a cup of feed, you’re greeted by free-roaming fallow deer. Because they’re raised from babies, these deer are incredibly gentle and cheekily friendly, eating right out of your hand. They may be tugging on your shirt for extra attention – so maybe don’t wear your favorite outfit.
Moreover, you’ll stroll past bison, coatimundi, llamas, a chatty umbrella cockatoo named Mozart, and yes, real reindeer! Whether you’re looking for a dose of holiday magic or just want to see these majestic creatures up close, they’re waiting for you year-round.
Oh, and needless to say…kids love it here.
