Las Vegas is an amazing city when it comes to advanced technological entertainment and innovative ideas. Just take a look at the Sphere. But this whimsical story set behind a waterfall of the SW Steakhouse at the Wynn was created with advanced technology and great insight from production manager Michael Curry.
This lakeside show that opened in 2020 is called Lake of Dreams and it’s a multimedia mix of puppetry and audio and visual elements set in a gorgeous venue.
Lights, Film, Music, Sculpture and Puppetry are all used to weave together an incredibly lakeside show that brings all the fairytale spring vibes to the desert.
The show was made across different global teams as far as the UK to Asia, all working on different components of the Lake of Dreams’ shows, from the lights to the sound to the animatronic Frog and Birds you’ll see on top of the waterfall. And watching the show you can see just how much of a technological feat this was for everyone involved.
The fun show can be viewed nightly beginning at dusk with shows every half hour. While you wait, you can dine on plates and sip on cocktails at SW Steakhouse or Lakeside.
The attire is upscale casual chic for both and although an animatronic frog and singing bird may seem perfect for children, kids under 5 aren’t permitted.
The menu for SW Steakhouse includes luxury plates like extravagant seafood platters to more low-key dishes like wild mushroom soup and of course, steaks like bone-in ribeye and wagyu. Lakeside focuses more on seafood with dishes like Dungeness Crab and Rock Shrimp Risotto or Wild Alaskan Halibut.
The food isn’t cheap though, to be fair, so we would save this for a special occasion or a night you feel like the extra splurge. Enjoy your dinner and a show right on the Strip amongst a beautiful pool and waterfall and it’s easy to be reminded why Las Vegas is such an exciting city.
