Book lovers, mark your calendars – it’s the most wonderful time of the year! The Las Vegas Book Festival is returning to Downtown on Saturday, October 17, 2026, for a day of celebrating the written and spoken word.
Founded in 2002 by Nevada Humanities, the festival has grown into a cornerstone community event. Now in its 25th year, Nevada’s largest and longest-running literary event features a great lineup of renowned authors, panel discussions, and activities for all ages.

Attendees can look forward to appearances by acclaimed writers like Tony Weaver Jr. (author of Weirdo) and Natalie Baszile (Queen Sugar). Those fascinated by politics won’t want to miss veteran journalist Jon Ralston, who’ll sit down with television reporter and political analyst Steve Sebelius to discuss his book, The Game Changer.
Science fiction and fantasy fans are also in for a massive treat. The highly anticipated “Legends, Myths and Aliens Too!” panel will bring together best-selling authors Ayana Gray, Clarence A. Haynes, Kimberly Lemming, Meghan Le Fay, Vanessa L. Torres, and Yasmin Angoe. From ancient stories to comedic sci-fi and alien encounters, this panel will explore dreamy fantasy worlds.

The 2026 Las Vegas Book Festival runs from 10 AM to 5 PM at the Historic Fifth Street School (401 S. Fourth St.) Best of all, this literary celebration is completely free and open to the public.
