Despite international buzz, the opulent Spanish-Mediterranean mansion famously dubbed the “Thriller Villa” remains unsold – even today. Located at 2710 Palomino Lane, the sprawling 27,259-square-foot compound served as Michael Jackson’s heavily guarded sanctuary during his final years. Seeking refuge from relentless paparazzi, the King of Pop rented the property, utilizing its high walls, 2-story private chapel, and an underground tunnel to maintain his family’s privacy.
Was the Thriller Villa ever for sale?
In 2016, the estate made headlines when it was listed for $9.5 million. However, even with its pop-culture pedigree, it wasn’t enough to secure a buyer. The property’s owner, Aner Iglesias, the Honorary Consul of El Salvador, has held onto the mansion continuously since purchasing it for $3.5 million in 2004.
Over the years, Iglesias tested the market with various price tags – from $8.8 million in 2010 to a spicy $19.5 million in 2014 – but ultimately, declined all offers. The $9.5 million listing was quietly removed in 2017.
What’s the status in 2026?

Today, the estate remains firmly off the market. Fans hoping to tour the legendary hideaway will be disappointed, as it is not a public attraction.
Instead, following a lavish 2012 interior redesign, it continues to serve as Iglesias’s private residence. The 12-bathroom, 7-bedroom mansion now hosts strictly exclusive private gatherings, select performances supporting the arts, and diplomatic events.
