DHRC Back to School Community Event
When: Saturday, July 25, between 9 AM and 3 PM.
Where: Dolores Huerta Resource Center (1737 Hunkins Dr.)
Kick off your back-to-school preparations with an event dedicated entirely to student health. Here, you can can pick up complimentary personal care items, enter to win raffle prizes, and get mandatory school immunizations out of the way. Student-athletes can also receive free sports physicals to clear them for the upcoming season (requires pre-registration by calling 702-699-3472).
Ride the Wave Back to School Pool Party
When: Saturday, August 1 between 12:00 PM and 3 PM
Where: Silver Mesa Activity Pool (4095 Allen Ln.)
Celebrate the final days of summer break with a massive pool party. This event blends preparation with play. Kids can score free backpacks and munch on complimentary treats while enjoying poolside games and upbeat music.
Back to School Giveaway
When: Saturday, August 8 between 8 AM and 11 AM
Where: Neighborhood Recreation Center (1638 N. Bruce St.)
This distribution event is the perfect place to grab those last-minute necessities. Families can bring their students to pick up crucial classroom materials and even get a fresh, free haircut for the first day of school!
Keep in mind that all inventory is handed out on a strict first-come, first-served basis. Moreover, students must attend the event in person to claim their gear.
