The city of Las Vegas has opened registration for its Strong Start GO! Mobile Pre-K Academy! This is a free early-education program bringing pre-kindergarten classes directly to neighborhoods across the city. Designed for children ages 3 to 5, the program operates out of converted school buses and offers structured learning at no cost to families. Here’s all you need to know!
What the program covers
Classes run Monday through Thursday in both morning sessions (8:30–11 AM) and afternoon sessions (1–3:30 PM). The curriculum covers literacy, mathematics, science, physical fitness, and social and emotional development. They’re using a child-centered, sensory-play approach intended to support school readiness. Family engagement workshops and activities are also built into the program.

Why early childhood investment is important
City officials launched the Strong Start GO! academies to raise awareness of early-childhood education: from birth to age 8. Research shows that 90 percent of brain development occurs before kindergarten. Early experiences during the first 5 years are considered critical for long-term learning outcomes and grade-level reading proficiency.
