Valentine’s Day is nowadays celebrated worldwide, known as “lovers day”. Couples usually go for a fancy dinner, a special date, or simply grab take-away and spend some quality time together. No matter how you choose to celebrate, there are plenty of things to do this Valentine’s day in Vegas – but first, let’s go back for a little bit.
While Valentine’s Day is widely popular, few know its history. Celebrated on February 14, it has roots in ancient Rome and early Christianity. It’s believed to have started as a Roman festival about fertility and spring. Later, the Catholic Church replaced it with St. Valentine’s Day, honoring a priest who secretly married couples against the emperor’s orders, and was eventually executed for it. By the Middle Ages, people started linking Valentine’s Day with romance, thanks to ideas like birds finding mates in February. Fast forward to the 18th century, and the day became about giving cards, flowers, and sweets. Which pretty much brings us up to date.
1. Head to Paris, but in Vegas

The Eiffel Tower in Paris has been a symbol of love and romance for many years, with plenty of couples getting engaged, married, or having lovely photoshoots around it. While a quick trip to Europe may not be in the cards, Vegas residents are quite lucky to have their own replica of the famous tower, with an amazing light show that happens every half-hour, from sunset to midnight! If you’d like to dine at the tower, the French restaurant offers exquisite dishes, such as Foie Gras, Tartare or Caviar. Celebrity restaurants are also at the resort, if you’re looking for something else.
2. Get a romantic gondola ride at Venetian

If you thought you can only find Paris in Vegas, think again – the magic of Italy is alive and well in Sin City, too! The Venetian Resort offers gondola rides, which are the perfect way to woo your partner on Valentine’s Day. The rides can be done indoor or outdoor, so just choose the vibe that fits you best. You’ll float down the Grand Canal, underneath bridges, and past beautiful cafes. To make sure the ride is as authentic as possible, you’ll also enjoy a singing gondolier that pilots your journey. Even better: every day, at 9:45 AM and at 4:20 PM, the gondoliers sing in unison as they march along the indoor canal during this special tradition. Prices start at $39 per person, or $156 for a private ride.
3. Catch some amazing views from a helicopter

If your idea of romance includes some adventure, or you’re simply over traditional dates and spots, this is the perfect activity to add to your things to do on Valentine’s Day list! Catch the most amazing views and make memories you won’t soon forget with a helicopter ride, right on top of the Strip! Picture yourself gazing down upon legendary spots, such as the magical Bellagio Fountains and a captivating Eiffel Tower replica – plus, of course all the beautiful lights. Prices for regular evening flights start at $124 – don’t forget that you’ll need to bring an ID for this experience. Grab your tickets here.
4. Get all cozy at a Candlelight concert

Candlelight concerts bring the magic of a live, multi-sensory musical experience to awe-inspiring locations like never seen before in Las Vegas. They’re always a great experience, but it’s truly a fitting one for Valentine’s Day – what’s more romantic than classical music, in an awesome location, with hundreds of candles?!
