For Mexican Independence Day, Dana White has his eye on The Sphere, and now, so do we. We think this is going to be an event to remeber, so read on to find out everything we know so far.
Since the Sphere’s grand debut earlier this fall, the venue has hosted a couple of dazzling and immersive events. ‘Postcards from Earth’ a gorgeous ode to mother nature from Darren Afronksy (not his first film on mother nature by the way) and U2 have graced the Sphere, using the entirety of its interior to display stunning visuals that have been passed around on social media.
Now, Dana White has a vision for the Sphere and UFC, which will mark the venue’s first live sporting event. In a press conference, White said,
It’s going to be a massive challenge, and I love every minute of it. I can’t wait to dive into this thing.”
And he even made a promise that has our eyes glued to what’s going to happen next year.
Remember that I said this to you, tonight: I’m going to put on the greatest live combat sports show that anyone has ever seen.”
Mark your calendars for September 14th (the day he booked the Sphere, though the holiday falls on September 16th) and get pumped.
Last year, Mexican-born Alexa Grasso fought Valentina Shevchenko in a draw and it resulted in Grasso dethroning seven-time defending flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko in an exciting rematch, and we’re wondering if anothe rematch is in the cards for next year.
Either way, this is expected to be one of Vegas’ most exciting events of 2024, and we can’t wait to see what White has up his mit.
