Vegas foodies and anime fans – we’ve got great news! Chinatown is about to level up big time. The Chubby Group (behind local favorites like The X Pot, Chubby Cattle, and Mikiya) is transforming the long-vacant Firestone tire shop on Spring Mountain Road. We’ll soon see a massive, four-story Japanese entertainment complex called Chubby World.
What’s Chubby World?

Picture around 25,000 square feet of immersive dining, shopping, and nightlife. But this won’t feel like your usual Vegas strip mall. Think more of a slice of Tokyo, coming all the way to our desert surroundings. Chubby World is poised to become one of Chinatown’s most significant attractions.
Here’s what we know so far, and what we can expect to see from the brand-new venue:
- The Basement Music Hall – The basement is set to be a 360-degree LED projection music venue. There’ll be DJ sets, anime-themed parties, and concerts running late into the night.
- The Retail Heaven – The ground floor will be a collector’s dream. Expect Pop Mart merch, anime figurines, and Japanese collectibles. Very Instagrammable!
- The Market & Omakase – Explore the new Hashi Market, which sells fresh seafood, Japanese groceries, and prepared foods. There’s even a much-awaited omakase counter that won’t break the bank, with planned pricing between $49 – $69 per person.
- The Tokyo Style Food Court – This floor is designed to look like a bustling Tokyo alleyway. It will feature a mix of Chubby Group’s own concepts (Chubby Cattle BBQ, Chubby Cattle Hotpot, Chubby Skewers, Mikiya Wagyu Shabu House) and other vendors. Head here for amazing street food.
- The Theater – This space is dedicated to cultural performances, cosplay shows, and anime events.
The details
This project is a huge deal for the Spring Mountain corridor. It’s important to note that Chubby World takes over a building that’s been empty for over 6 years, and turns it into a flagship destination. If you’ve been waiting for a spot that combines high-end wagyu, affordable sushi, and late-night anime raves…well, this is it! You will still have to wait a bit, though. There’s no estimated opening date yet.
