For one day only, experience the great outdoors without spending a dime. On Saturday, June 13, the Nevada Division of State Parks is inviting residents and visitors to explore the beauty of our state during Free Adventure Day. In a statewide celebration, entrance fees will be waived at all Nevada State Parks for the entire day.
Free entrance to state parks & Free Fishing Day

This year’s Free Adventure Day brings double the excitement because it coincides with Free Fishing Day. For one day only, visitors are allowed to fish without a Nevada fishing license in any public waters where fishing is permitted. Whether you’re experienced or a beginner looking to learn more, it’s the ideal time to cast a line in Nevada’s lakes, reservoirs, and waterways.
Additionally, many parks will host special programs, guided hikes, educational activities, and family-friendly events.
What you need to know
While park entry is free, you should be aware of a few important details. The waiver applies strictly to entrance fees. All other standard park fees – including those for camping, boating, facility reservations, and special use – will still apply.
State park officials encourage all guests to plan ahead to ensure a safe and enjoyable trip. Bring plenty of water, dress appropriately for changing weather conditions, and practice ‘Leave No Trace principles’ to help protect Nevada’s stunning natural resources.
