Happy spring! May is the perfect time for outdoorsy activities, juuuust before temperatures get Vegas-crazy. If you’re looking for the most scenic yoga flow in Southern Nevada, head up to Mt. Charleston for Mountainside Yoga at Lee Canyon. It’s the perfect excuse to move mindfully, while enjoying the fresh mountain air that’s a solid 30 to 40 degrees cooler than the city.
Scenic yoga classes at Lee Canyon
Here’s how it goes. You’ll be laying your mat down right in the shade of the Aspen grove at the Bristlecone base area. The fantastic Ashley-Marie Olgado is back for her 3rd year to lead a one-hour Vinyasa flow. Her classes are designed for everyone, so whether you’re a total beginner or you can easily pop into a headstand, you’ll feel right at home. Stick around after the movement, too. There’s an optional meditation session to help you soak up some extra mountain peace.
All you know need to know before you flow

- When: Sundays at 10 AM all through May. Starting in June, you get double the zen when they add Friday morning classes to the schedule.
- Where: Lee Canyon’s Aspen Grove.
- What to bring: Your own yoga mat, plenty of water, and comfy clothes. Keep in mind that the site is only partially shaded, so a hat and some sunscreen are highly recommended.
- Cost: There’s a small registration fee of $10 for Friday classes and $15 for Sundays.
These sessions are incredibly popular with locals and spots fill up fast every summer. You’ll definitely want to head to Lee Canyon’s website and pre-register to lock in your spot before making the drive up the mountain.
Grab your mat, beat the heat, and take a deep breath…at elevation!
