For locals navigating the dating scene in Southern Nevada, we’ve got some bad news. A recent study may confirm what many already suspect: Henderson has been officially ranked as the worst U.S. city for singles. Yep…last of the last. Oh, and Vegas, don’t you point fingers – we’re close behind.
How bad is dating in Henderson?
The comprehensive “Best Cities for Singles” report by Zumper analyzed 100 of the country’s most populous cities across key metrics. These include social opportunities, affordability, and the single population. The results placed Henderson at a discouraging 100th place overall – primarily due to factors that make it difficult to meet and entertain prospective partners.
Henderson earned the lowest score in the entire country for its percentage of single residents, with only 28% of the population reporting as unmarried. This small dating pool is made worse by an overall lack of social infrastructure. In the categories measuring social life per capita – such as restaurants, nightlife, and entertainment – the city was dealt a triple blow of ‘F’ grades. Overall, it seems like there are few options relative to its population size.
Is it all bad?!
Definitely not! While the news is a bit grim on the dating scene, it’s not all bad on the financial front. Henderson did score relatively well in terms of economics, earning a ‘B’ grade for the Median Nonfamily Income and a respectable ‘C’ for the Cost of Living Index. Therefore, dating in Henderson may be challenging, but it’s definitely a financially stable place to live once you find your person.
How about Las Vegas?

Well, Henderson singles could just make the trip to Vegas and find their soulmates here, right? Not quite. While Sin City scored a bit better, we’re 82nd on the list, scoring F’s for single population percentage and unemployment grade. So, while making the drive for more entertainment and a fun weekend out is totally doable…we can’t guarantee you’ll find your better half in Vegas, either!
