If there’s one thing Vegas locals love more than perfect spring weather (before the heat-heat kicks in), it’s a cool community event that doesn’t cost a dime. By simply heading a little bit northwest, you’ll stumble upon the best outdoor tradition of the season.
Drink, eat and be merry at the Las Vegas Bluegrass Festival
On Saturday, April 11, the sprawling amphitheater at Centennial Hills Park is transforming into a huge, open-air concert venue. It’s time for the annual Las Vegas Bluegrass Festival!
This isn’t your average picnic. The city is bringing in a great lineup of award-winning Bluegrass and Americana bands to take over the main stage for a full day of live music. The grassy amphitheater also provides the perfect setting to spread out a blanket, set up your lawn chairs, and enjoy a festival atmosphere – all without the overwhelming Strip crowds.
But the music is only half the draw. The park will be flanked by an artisan marketplace featuring local vendors and independent creators. Come hungry, because the festival is also bringing the city’s best food trucks. You can find everything from slow-smoked BBQ and street tacos to fresh seafood and gourmet burgers. For those over 21, pop-up beer and margarita tents will be pouring cold drinks all afternoon.
Who’s playing?
This year, the festival’s celebrating its 10th anniversary ,with the most stacked lineup yet! Here are some names you can look forward to:
- Sierra Hull
- The Unwieldies
- Paige
- The Overtones
- Charlie Stevens Band
- Chatham Rabbits
- and others…
