On Saturday 12, 2025, music lovers, collectors, and industry people can find some real gems in selected, independent record stores. On Record Store Day, shops around the U.S. feature exclusive vinyl – and yes, for one day only. But it’s more than just that; it’s a sign, from participating stores, that this industry still needs independently-owned brick-and-mortar shops. Since its inception in 2007, many artists have supported the movement. During its first year, Metallica spent hours at Rasputin Music in San Francisco meeting their fans. This inspired many other singers and bands, and it became a tradition, and a way for professionals to show support for these independent shops. The list includes artists like Ozzy Osbourne, Iggy Pop, Pearl Jam, Taylor Swift, and more.
This year’s ambassador is no one other than Post Malone!
Record Store Day in Vegas
One highlight from this year’s release includes a picture disc version of Fleetwood Mac’s iconic 1975 self-titled album, released in honor of its 50th anniversary. There are only 6,475 copies available, and the release includes hits like “Rhiannon,” “Landslide,” and “Say You Love Me”.
Other finds at Record Store Day include Wicked, Taylor Swift, Pixies, and more. Don’t miss the in-store signing by Roger Clyne.

We recommend calling your chosen store in advance and check if they have the vinyl you’re after (if it’s something specific). As you can imagine, some are more popular than others, and will go fast (wink wink Wicked). Whenever the store opens, be prepared that people will already be in a queue. Given all that…happy Record Store Day! Hopefully you’ll find something unique, that you can cherish forever.
