We’re lucky to live in Vegas every day, for a million reasons…but in case you needed another one, here it is. Finding stores open on Christmas Day in Vegas is slightly easier than in other cities due to the 24/7 nature of the Strip. However, residential areas still see many closures. Here’s what’s open and until when on Thursday, December 25, 2025.
Grocery and convenience stores open on Christmas Day
Most major grocery chains like Smith’s (Kroger) are closed on Christmas Day, but you have options for essentials:
- Vons / Albertsons will have select locations open with reduced hours (typically 8 AM – 4 PM)
- 7-Eleven has most locations open 24/7
- Circle K has most locations open 24/7
- Terrible Herbst has most locations open 24/7
Stores confirmed closed on Christmas Day

Expect the following to be closed throughout the Las Vegas valley:
-
Big Box: Target, Walmart, Costco, Best Buy.
-
Grocery: Smith’s, Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, Sprouts, Aldi.
-

Pharmacies & drugstores
These are your best bet for last-minute gifts or medication. Note that while the store is open, the pharmacy counter usually has shorter hours.
-
Walgreens: most locations are open. 24-hour stores (including those on the Strip) remain open 24/7. The rest typically operate from 9 AM to 6 PM.
-
CVS: many locations will have modified hours, often 8 AM to 9 PM. Locations inside or near major Strip resorts frequently remain open 24 hours.
-
Rite Aid: Generally closed on Christmas Day.
Strip & resort shopping
Shopping centers located inside major resorts often remain accessible, though individual boutique hours may vary.
-
Miracle Mile Shops (Planet Hollywood): typically remains open, though some individual stores may choose to close or shorten hours.
-
The Forum Shops (Caesars Palace): Generally open.
-
Grand Canal Shoppes (Venetian/Palazzo): Usually remains open to accommodate resort guests.

Fashion Show Las Vegas: Typically closed, though restaurants with exterior entrances may stay open.
Perks of living in Vegas
If you’re around the Strip or can make your way there, the small “Essentials” or “Sundries” shops inside every hotel and casino are guaranteed to be open 24/7. They’ll have snacks and basic toiletries – though keep in mind that prices will be higher than at a standard drugstore.
Happy holidays!
