If you live in Las Vegas, you know the drill: once the heat hits, finding a pool that isn’t chaotic, or an overpriced tourist trap, can be a mission. But this year, the Palms Casino Resort is making a serious play for your affection, and it involves some pretty sweet perks.
Free cabanas for Vegas locals
Starting March 16, 2026, the off-Strip resort is officially opening its pool season with a massive ‘thank you’ to the community. They’re offering completely free cabana rentals exclusively for Las Vegas locals. Yep – complimentary luxury lounging just for showing your local ID.
What’s the catch?

The deal is actually pretty generous. From opening day through the end of April, residents can snag a free cabana 7 days a week. There is a small no-go period to keep in mind: the offer pauses from March 19 to 22, while the resort hosts its annual Basketball Bonanza viewing parties.
After May 1st, the freebie sessions shift to a Sunday-through-Friday schedule, so you can still spend your weekdays (and Sundays) with some high-end relaxation.
A local focus
Crystal Robinson-Wesley, the VP of marketing at the Palms, described the move as an effort to create a “genuinely welcoming” vibe without the typical hassles or price tags found on the Strip. Since a new owner took over, the resort has leaned hard into becoming a favorite local haunt – this is the latest move to reinforce that strategy.
So, the next time you wanna spend a warm spring or summer day with other locals – at zero cost – you know where to go. Just remember to book your free cabanas early, as you know…word travels fast in Sin City.
