Let’s be honest – you can’t speak of impressive skylines in the U.S. without mentioning Las Vegas. The Strip‘s tall and bright buildings are known all over the world, and rightly so. A recent study by McLuck analyzed the nation’s most impressive skylines, and Vegas made the top 10 – but not as high as expected.
Las Vegas skyline ranks as the 7th most beautiful in the U.S.
In order to rank these impressive skylines, the research combined various data points. It analyzed specific high-rise statistics (like structural and roof elevations, year built, and geographic coordinates), urban luminosity levels, skyline-specific Pinterest engagement, and Flickr photo totals. The result is a perspective on both structural magnitude and aesthetic popularity.
Top 10 came with some surprises and some very obvious results. New York took the top spot, followed by Chicago in 2nd, and colorful Miami in 3rd. Dallas came in 4th, and Atlanta scored surprisingly high, closing the top 5. Just above us, Boston ranked 6th.
Vegas made top 10, but only in the 7th position. The brightness category is where Sin City truly shines, scoring a perfect 100/100. With 59 high-rise buildings, the average height is 144 meters. However, we scored pretty low in Pinterest interest (total pins), at 5,164 – Boston, just above us, scored almost 20,000. Our total score came to a 8.787 out of 10.
