If you love places like H Mart and would love to see more similar ones, we’ve got great news. A new bulk-buying destination seems to be on its way! Resco Food Service – widely nicknamed the ‘Asian Costco’ – is preparing to open its first Nevada location. Taking over the 45,000-square-foot space previously occupied by One Stop 4 Flooring, you’ll find it at 6150 W. Flamingo Rd (near Jones Blvd). The massive warehouse market promises to bring a wholesale twist to the city’s Asian grocery scene.
What’s can you find at Resco Food Service?
Unlike traditional supermarkets, Resco positions itself as a large-format wholesale alternative. The new store is expected to carry over 5000 items, ranging from fresh fish and meat, to a vast selection of Asian specialty goods and pantry staples. Of course, it would also be a great spot to find unique snacks. Resco aims to differentiate itself with its warehouse-style model, mirroring the experience of its original City of Industry, California location. Which, by the way, has garnered pretty much a cult following.
When will ‘Asian Costco’ open in Vegas?
The highly anticipated grand opening has hit a bump in the road. Originally set to welcome customers in January – perfectly timed for the Chinese New Year rush – the doors remain closed as of mid-February. Currently, there is no official update regarding a revised opening date. It seems like we need to wait a bit longer for the chance to explore the exciting aisles.
Despite the delay, the buzz remains high. As far as we know, there’s been a $1.6 million permit filed for tenant improvements, and there was a sign saying “coming soon.” The arrival of Resco still seems likely, promising to be a major addition to our diverse culinary landscape.
