The 4th of July is always a huge celebration around here, but in 2026, the Las Vegas Valley is gearing up for a once-in-a-generation celebration. Marking the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, America’s semiquincentennial – widely known as America 250 – is stealing the show. And if there’s one event you can’t miss, it’s the 32nd Annual Summerlin Council Patriotic Parade, Southern Nevada’s largest Independence Day event.
Summerlin 4th of July parade – what to expect
With this year’s theme of “United We Celebrate 250,” locals and visitors can expect colorful patriotism, dazzling displays, and loads of family fun.
Set for Saturday, July 4, 2026, this 100% free event promises to be a tribute to the people and traditions that shaped America. The festivities kick off with an Escort Parade at 8:30 AM, followed by the main Patriotic Parade stepping off at 9 AM.
This year’s parade features a lineup of over 70 entries brought to life by more than 2,500 participants and 500 volunteers. You’ll see America 250 “chapters” honoring U.S. history, including the Founding of the Nation, Military Service, Community Spirit, Culture & Diversity, Sports & Achievement, and Traditions That Unite Us.
Here’s what else you can expect:
- Giant balloons: More than 20 massive balloons will soar above the crowds, including a brand-new 30-foot Liberty Bell, a 40-foot American Eagle, a 30-foot birthday cake, and a 25-foot Uncle Sam hat.
- Pop-culture meets patriotic floats: Look out for “Wicked: Fun on the Fourth,” “Red, White and Bluey,” and “Mario’s Star-Spangled Power-Up.”
- Local stars: The parade will feature local performers, military and veteran organizations, and appearances from beloved sports teams like the Vegas Golden Knights, Las Vegas Raiders, and Athletics.
Route and viewing tips
The parade route steps off at Hillpointe Road and Hills Center Drive, traveling south on Hills Center Drive to Village Center Circle. Finally, it turns west onto Trailwood Drive before wrapping up at the Trails Village Shopping Center.
Attendees may begin setting up their viewing areas along the parade route starting at 7 AM on Friday, July 3. Don’t forget to bring plenty of water, wear protective clothing, slather on sunscreen, and rock your best red, white, and blue.
Beyond the 4th of July parade
The Summerlin Patriotic Parade is just the beginning of the extravaganza. After the parade wraps up around 11 AM, you can look forward to a valley full of historic celebrations:
- Station fireworks: Coinciding their own 50th anniversary with the nation’s 250th, Station Casinos will host free fireworks and drone shows.
- The Strip fireworks: If you’re willing to venture out of the suburbs, the Strip is hosting its biggest fireworks spectacle ever on the night of July 4th. A synchronized display will launch simultaneously from 9 resort rooftops, creating the largest coordinated fireworks show in the country.
- Community events: If you find yourself exploring outside of Summerlin, the City of Henderson is hosting a special America 250 celebration at Heritage Park, and Boulder City will be holding its annual Damboree Festivities and Fireworks.
