Vegas, prepare to welcome a new-comer to our sports family. The Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) has just announced a massive expansion, bringing a brand-new team to Vegas that will hit the ice starting in the 2026-27 season. Are we ready, or are we ready?!
PWHL is coming to Vegas!
Vegas has quickly transformed into one of North America’s hottest sports destinations. Between the city’s proven love for hockey and its massive support for women’s sports (like the back-to-back champion Las Vegas Aces), bringing the PWHL here was a no-brainer. The new team will play its home games right in the heart of the action at T-Mobile Arena, while holding their training camps and practices at the America First Center in Henderson.
The expansion is getting plenty of local backing, too. The Vegas Golden Knights are heavily involved, since girls’ and women’s youth hockey participation in Nevada has skyrocketed by an incredible 600% since the Knights’ debut in 2017. MGM Resorts International is also stepping up to welcome the squad to T-Mobile Arena.
To welcome the news, County Commissioner Jim Gibson said: “We are a great sports town for both men’s and women’s sports and I look forward to the incredible success the PWHL will enjoy here.”
What do we know so far?
While the permanent team name and logo are still unknown, the PWHL has given us a sneak peek at the new official colors: green and gold. The green represents the natural beauty of Southern Nevada’s desert and mountains, while the gold is a nod to the glamour of the Strip. Oh, and of course, the Golden Knights.
Can’t wait to show your support? Official PWHL Las Vegas merch is already available online. Want to guarantee your spot in the stands when they finally drop the puck? Gear up! The 2026-27 season is going to be awesome!
