It’s August, which means it’s about time we make the most of the last months of summer in Sin City. We know, it’s hot…but there are still plenty of ways to enjoy summer fun in Vegas. From delicious food to the most decadent pool parties, here are 13 fabulous things to do this August in Las Vegas.
1. Unity at Sphere

Two beloved giants in the EDM industry, Insomniac and Tomorrowland, join forces to take over Sphere this August. UNITY is perhaps one of the most awaited events in Vegas this year, as we already know that combining the experience of the organizers with the magic of Sphere…yeah, it will be one to remember. 2. Take a dip at Drai’s this August in Las Vegas

Vegas is known for its fabulous pools and day clubs (full list here), and Drai’s is a must. This multi-level rooftop oasis includes two full-service bars and more than 75 luxurious bottle service tables with astonishing city views. In the Cromwell Las Vegas Hotel & Casino, Drai’s is the perfect place for daytime partying. You will see some of the world’s most celebrated DJs and performers, like Bow Wow and Fat Joe, performing throughout the month.
3. Go for a romantic date at a Candlelight concert

The wildly popular Candlelight concerts have captivated audiences around the world. The series brings you amazingly talented classical musicians who bring their craft to you in beautiful venues, all bathed in Candlelight. 4.Cool down for real at the Ice Bar

This August in Las Vegas it’s like any other August…very, very hot. But fortunately, we have the perfect cool down – an actual ice bar! At the Minus5 Ice Bar, you’ll be chilling at minus 5 degrees in this unique environment with over 90 tons of ice and of fun ice sculptures. The bar provides a parka and gloves with entry, so you don’t need to worry about clothing.
5. Movies by the pool

Who says Mondays have to boring? Beat the weekend blues at the Cosmopolitan, where you can once again watch movies straight from the Boulevard Pool. The tickets are just $10 for Vegas locals, and $15 for visitors.

6. Check out the Titanic experience this August in Las Vegas

Escaping the heat at a pool is a typical Vegas thing to do…but sometimes, we just need to enjoy that sweet, sweet AC. Even better if we can be entertained and learn something, meanwhile! Vegas is home to some incredible museums that explain its tumultuous history, such as the Mob Museum or the Neon Museum. You can see amazing art at the Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art, and don’t forget to stop by the Bellagio Conservatory while you’re there.
There’s also an amazing Titanic exhibition in town, which features over 350 real artifacts and full-scale recreations. You can even see the famous Grand Staircase, and walk along the Promenade Deck – find tickets here.
7. Cool down with a bottomless brunch

All you can drink mimosas, bloody marys, rose bubbles…is there a better way to enjoy a Sunday?! Downtown Terrace is a local favorite, Primrose brings a fancier experience, while Honey Salt makes unbelievable cocktails. 8. Escape to newly reopened Cave Lake

This spot has been closed for over 5 years for renovations, but it’s now back, with stunning swimming spots, plenty of fresh fish, and beautiful surrounding hiking trails. Here, you can once again enjoy kayaking, swimming or fishing in this beautiful mountain setting. Cave Lake has 2 campgrounds that have also been newly renovated, which means you’ll find clean toilets, showers, potable water, and everything else you need for the perfect weekend getaway.
9. Don’t miss The Wizard of Oz at Sphere this August in Las Vegas

We’re not in Kansas anymore…we’re at Sphere! The Wizard of Oz is coming this August, and we couldn’t be more excited. The classic 1939 film is getting a full-on immersive makeover, and we’re just lucky enough for it to be right here in Vegas. Of course, you can expect this project to stay true to the tale’s magic. The Wizard of Oz will honor the beloved classic, while pushing the limits of what’s possible. Anyone who’s already seen any show at Sphere, knows this will be one for the books! It opens August 28, and takes place every day of the month after.
10. Listen to free, live music at Downtown Rocks

Downtown Rocks returns this summer, turning up the volume with 23 top-charting artists and legendary performers lighting up the Fremont Street Experience. With electrifying music, glowing neon, massive crowds, and ice-cold drinks, get ready to show up loud and let your summer nights hit full throttle. Check out the schedule in the pic!
11. Universal Horror Unleashed opens this August in Las Vegas

This summer, Sin City will welcome the first ever year-round haunted house. Inspired by the iconic 1974 horror classic, this immersive experience plunges you into the terrifying world of “Texas Chainsaw Massacre”. You’ll retrace the victims’ final steps, encountering infamous scenes brought chillingly to life. Your journey begins in a desolate Texas cemetery, then leads to the dusty gas station – home of the unsettling Old Man and the site of that unforgettable barbecue scene. 12. Sip at Salud! An Introduction To Tequila & Mezcal
Love Margaritas? Who doesn’t? But at this event, you’ll take a closer look at Tequila, the spirit that brings it to life. You’ll explore the difference between Tequila and Mezcal, take an in-depth look at production styles, and sample a few favorites ranging from bright Blanco Tequila to savory Anejo and smoky Mezcal. It takes place on August 23, and it’s $20 per person.
13. Catch amazing views with rooftop drinks

It’s always a great season to sip on delicious cocktails and enjoy the amazing views Sin City has to offer…but summer just has that special touch. From the Bellagio Fountain to Vegas’ own version of the Eiffel Tower, you can see some of the city’s most impressive landmarks from many of these stunning sky-high watering holes in the city. 14. Sip a cocktail in this iconic Boeing 747

AREA15 is expanding this month, and with it, Vegas is getting a new addition to its entertainment scene. Fancy sipping a cocktail from a unique piece of art, with an interesting back story? One of Burning Man’s most iconic pieces is now in Sin City. The Boeing 747 was purchased by the late Zappos CEO Tony Hsieh, and he brought it to Vegas with plans to turn it into a party venue. In 2022, Joshua Levine, the curator of AREA15’s open-air Art Island gallery, acquired it. It measures 150 feet in length and 60 feet in width, and it can host over 1,300 guests.
15. Check out this Ice Age Fossils State Park

About 25,000 years ago, during the height of the last Ice Age, the Las Vegas Valley looked totally different – green and full of water. Massive Ice Age animals like Columbian mammoths, ancient bison, and camels wandered the area. But as the Ice Age came to an end, the wetlands started drying up, leaving behind spring-fed streams.
