When it comes to entertainment, no city does it quite like Las Vegas – we know it, tourists know it, the whole world knows it. And the data confirms it. According to a comprehensive 2025 study by WalletHub, Sin City has officially been crowned the most fun city in America, outperforming 181 other US destinations.
Vegas is the most fun city in the US
The study analyzed 182 cities across 65 key metrics, ranging from the number of fitness centers and movie costs to the variety of nightlife options. Vegas secured the top spot by dominating the ‘Nightlife & Parties’ category (ranking 1st) and the ‘Entertainment & Recreation’ category (ranking 2nd).
It’s important to note that Vegas’s victory isn’t just about the casinos. Our city boasts a massive concentration of attractions and a record number of restaurants rated 4.5 stars or higher. WalletHub analyst Chip Lupo noted that while the most fun cities are tourist hubs, they provide “affordable options for year-round fun for their residents” as well.
Sin City also stands out for its unique legal perks, such as being one of the few cities where public drinking is permitted in many areas. Additionally, it offers a high density of music venues (and the best one of them all!), comedy clubs, and diverse recreational activities. Having some of the best hikes in the nation at our doorstep is definitely a flex!
Despite our reputation for glitz and recent overall price increases, Vegas remained competitive in the costs category, ranking 36th – making it more affordable than rivals like Miami or New York.
